Lockheed Martin F-16 Aircraft Sustainment Operations SME- (Structures), Korea in Greenville, South Carolina

Description: Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team on a long-term assignment, serving as the F-16 in-country Sustainment Operations Structures Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Seosan, Korea. This position organizationally aligns with the Maintenance, Overhaul, and Upgrade (MUO) team. This role will represent Lockheed Martin AFS as the primary in-country point of contact with the customer to provide comprehensive program oversight to ensure all modification activities are implemented consistent with planned strategies and commitments and achieve 100% delivery of modified aircraft to meet AFS and customer expectations. The selected candidate will deploy directly to the customer site in Korea.

The selected candidate will a highly-motivated person who will be skilled at performing the following responsibilities:

• Provide strategic direction to support modification kit installation with emphasis on quality, schedule, and cost reduction.

• Assist the customer by providing F-16 Structural SME expertise in the areas of task coordination, modification, and schedule performance.

• Advise customer teams to ensure modification activities are implemented per established modification plans.

• Advise customer team on methods to manage modification risks, tooling issues, use of installation planning, and aircraft compliance specifications.

• Provide technical consultation and analysis support of the modification kit installation and planning activities, including guidance and advice for initial and follow-on kit installation such as: equipment installations, structural changes, harness modifications, and harness routing.

• Provide interpretation of reference planning and recommendations on sequencing the modification tasks to improve efficiencies during kit installation.

• Provide technical support for drawing, specification, and technical order interpretation.

• Support troubleshooting, cause and corrective action activities as well as mitigation plans.

• Provide consultation and support on quality issues such as mandatory inspection recommendations and inspection points for quality checks during the kit installation. Provide technical support during operation checkout upon completion of the modification.

• May serve as the in-country security point of contact monitoring the security situation and implementing actions in accordance with defined evacuation plans for all LM employees and dependents as required.

• Demonstrate LM values, demonstrate a positive mental attitude, promote cooperation and improved communication with Aircraft Maintenance & Support Engineering.

• Must be United States citizen. Must possess a Final Secret Security Clearance.

• Passport/Visa Required candidate must be capable of keeping a current Passport to support overseas filed team assignments.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience reading and interpreting written specifications, blueprints, engineering drawings, understanding symbols, flags and general notes.

• At least 8 years of Aviation Sheetmetal or Structures experience

• Experience performing assembly and installation work using assembly, jigs, fixtures, test equipment, precision measuring instruments and mechanics hand tools.

• Experience working with F-16 systems, Time Compliance Technical Orders, Job guides.

• Experience interfacing with international customers and LM management teams.

• Expertise in providing technical assistance and manufacturing/modification solutions in an international environment.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Skills:

• Fighter Aviation Manufacturing/assembly and repair experience preferred.

• Proven technical leader with experience representing the Lockheed Martin (LM) position during recurring meetings with the senior leadership.

• Program management and aircraft modification experience.

• Experience providing technical assistance, kit management, and modification planning.

• Experience with support equipment, familiarity with aircraft maintenance procedures, ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, source data and technical documents.

• Organizational and communications skills with foreign nationals and working within foreign cultures.

• Knowledge of International Human Resources foreign assignment policies and procedures, as well as in-country Operating Procedures.

• Experience with in/out of scope work and the Over & Above, Delay and Disruption processes to include submitting REAs, KDFs, TICs and Form 779s.

• Experience using LM engineering systems to include EDMS, DART, MPRS, Gold Disk, IHS and FIN

• Background in F-16 modification or production

Experience with production tooling application and manufacturing processes.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
