JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Communications will be responsible for communication strategies and execution for Revenue + Technology, Customer Group and Global Technology (GT) organizations. This individual will partner with Global Business Communications (GBC) leads and other disciplines across the company to tactically execute communications plans. This role will clearly articulate assigned groups’ vision, messages, and priorities; and facilitate communications channels, manage key events and announcements, develop messaging strategies, and support executive speaker engagements. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting organizational messaging with corporate objectives, enhancing the company's reputation, and fostering associate engagement and understanding of the company's goals and strategies.

This individual is responsible for 1) Providing communications support for key stakeholders including planning, developing, and executing communication deliverables targeted for both internal and external audiences. (e.g., Company Executives, Owners, Franchisees, customers, etc.) 2) Serving as Channel Manager for GBC’s primary internal and external communications vehicles, including but not limited to: internal portal and email marketing tool, EMMA. 3) Supporting the communication planning process and development of existing and new communication platforms that drive awareness and delivery of executive and GT stakeholders’ initiatives and deliverables. 4) Serving as point-of-contact for and own material management of insights, metrics, monthly CEO update reports, GT business campaigns, and quarterly recap reports. 5) Maintaining processes, documentation, and planning materials including, but not limited to, content calendars and trackers, weekly communications packages, and communications and change management roadmaps. 6) Developing and maintaining turnkey decks, executive briefing materials, and scripts for GT and executive stakeholders and teams.

Success in this role requires excellent writing and editing skills, a strong background in communications, critical thinking skills, ability to manage complex stakeholder interactions, a proven capacity to manage multiple projects at the same time, as well as a willingness to be tested on difficult projects and initiatives.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

• 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Communications, or related major AND Six or more years’ experience in communications, business, sales and marketing, or related professional area

OR

• Associate degree AND Eight or more years’ experience in communications, business, and marketing, or related professional area.

• Demonstrated ability in internal communications and change management, preferably in a large, global organization.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience Preferred

• Graduate degree, MS/MBA (or equivalent) in Business Management, Communications, or related field.

• Experience with professional writing and editing, including launching and maintaining communications channels.

• Experience with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.

• Strong experience and aptitude in various Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Office software package, email distribution, web publishing and content management.

• Demonstrated ability to present ideas and information in a concise, organized way.

• Hospitality/Lodging industry experience.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Communications

• Support communications strategies, plans and channels that drive strategic imperatives and business priorities of Global Digital Products.

• Create, plan, and execute every aspect of initiative communications plans to effectively disseminate key messages.

• Develop and manage calendar of key communications to ensure consistent, relevant, and timely delivery of communications material.

• Create messages describing initiatives for use in internal communications and partner with Corporate/Consumer Public Relations for external communications (e.g., Trade Press, Consumer Groups).

• Develop targeted communications (e.g., emails, memos, frequently asked questions, presentations, collateral, videos, etc.) that communicate the capabilities of Marriott’s Digital Products.

• Develop core presentations for Global Digital Products senior leaders and key stakeholders (e.g., Associates, Company Leadership, Owners, etc.).

• Measure the effectiveness of change management, marketing and communications efforts, set targets, track results, and improve programs. Lead data collection efforts and analyze data and feedback to inform strategy development; track performance and recommend solutions to continuously improve performance.

• Respond to, solve and make decisions on communication/change management requests that have broader department impact.

• Improve processes by actively seeking stakeholder feedback and focusing on designing new processes/materials.

• Work collaboratively with a variety of key stakeholders both within Global Digital Products and across the company to ensure alignment and consistency with broader organizational communication efforts.

• Seek opportunities to leverage knowledge, resources and work activities across the Global Business Communications Services team and other MI disciplines.
