Liberty Mutual Benefits is searching for aManagerfor ourTechnical Claims Management Services (TCMS) Team. In this role, you will manage a team of Technical Claims Consultants to ensure comprehensive and thorough claim determinations within ERISA regulations and Fair Claims Practices, while effectively utilizing various programs and resources. You would also be responsible for resolving claims management service issues with claimants, attorneys and employer representatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong claims management skills, strong people management and teamwork skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and a passion for driving team motivation and quality execution.
Overseeing direction and risk management and cost benefit analyses of complex LTD claim determinations meeting specific medical and financial criteria: complex/subjective medical conditions and high financial exposure.
Monitor quality, recommendations and consistency with governing regulations and internal administrative standards.
Manage selection, training, development and performance of staff.
Monitor workflow and meeting of performance guarantees at the case manager level.
Perform quality audits to ensure adherence to departmental standards.
Coordination of Claim Consults to support and improve Field Office technical expertise
Participation in Group Benefit Project Teams; i.e. Best Practices, Closure Report, DAAR Tasks, Vendor Report Management
Communicate with claimants, employers, attorneys, and sales to resolve issues with claims management/customer service.
Support continuous improvement through participation in or leadership of process improvement initiatives.
Travel as needed to Field Offices to support technical skills advancement and Best Practices
Perform as backup to TCMS Manager II
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus at least four years of relevant, progressively responsible experience in a claims case management environment.
Demonstrated skills in customer service, mentoring, leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and claims case management required.
Demonstrated ability to lead, devise and implement procedures, analyze technically complex subject matter, manage multiple priorities and projects, make decisions and negotiate conflict.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
Knowledge of Group Benefits products and processes preferred.
