American Express Data Forecasting Analyst, Compliance-Financial Intelligence Unit in Concord, New Hampshire

American Express’ Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) is responsible for the end-to-end suspicious activity reporting process, which entails monitoring for, investigating, and, when appropriate, reporting suspicious activity. The FIU performs a critical role in ensuring that American Express complies with the Bank Secrecy and USA PATRIOT Acts and provides law enforcement with key information for the investigation and prosecution of money laundering and terrorist financing. This position will report to the Manager of Inventory, Operations, and Strategy in Phoenix.

The Analyst will be primarily responsible for forecasting volume, capacity planning and reporting to support the Financial Intelligence Unit. He/she will have the opportunity to communicate regularly with senior level executives and influence forecast and staffing decisions. In addition, this role provides a great opportunity to gain exposure to strategies and initiatives, and the drivers of results. The Analyst will provide consultative support to the leadership team through strategic analytics to highlight trends, risks and opportunities. The position entails Data Capture, Data Management, Data Quality Governance, Data Analysis and Reporting. The individual will be expected to recommend insightful, actionable and sustainable business solutions to manage inventory through data driven insights and strategic initiatives.

Job responsibilities: * Create long term operational planning and capacity forecasting, with associated staffing recommendations for the FIU

  • End-to-end ownership of developing annual forecasts (process, data and assumption quality, leadership alignment) and refreshing periodically

  • Delivery of monthly reporting and scorecard packages which track performance vs. forecast and goals

  • Data Capture, Data Management, Data Quality Governance, Data Analysis and Reporting.

  • Metrics development, capture, analyst and reporting.

  • Closely monitor performance and analyze what is working / not working by partnering with key stakeholders to understand key drivers of performance

  • Translate results/drivers into useful insights and actionable recommendations (trends, growth opportunities)

  • Craft impactful and engaging presentations to be used at VP/executive leader level

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders

  • Provide thought leadership and drive strategic projects that improve processes across the organization

  • Determining appropriate staffing levels to accommodate changing volumes

  • Evaluating strategies including workload changes, resourcing levels, alert ingestion schedules and other enhancements to ensure that regulatory expectations are met

  • 2-3yrs of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years of workforce management

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage, synthesize and analyze complex data

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Self-starter with high level of accountability and ability to solve ambiguous challenges

  • Proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with Access and SQL desired

  • 2 years of workforce management a plus

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
