Accountabilities in this role:

• Act as a solution architect in proposing solutions in multiple areas of business processes that are in line with Cardinal’s and industry best practices and development guidelines

• Breaks down complex business problems, perform effective analysis to develop and evaluate options and recommend solutions

Proficient in Supply Chain strategy for distribution, Forecasting, Supply planning, TLB, Allocation rules and CIF

• Configuration experience in SAP APO GATP, SAP SD Order to Cash processes - Make to Order, Make to Stock, Third Party Order, Drop Ship and Intercompany Sales, Inbound Outbound Deliveries, Good Receipt, Customer Invoice. Test experience on EDIs, IDOCs, Batch jobs, APO Process chains

• Designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.

• Demonstrated aptitude to investigate complex technical and business problems in detail, to diagnose and provide effective and efficient alternatives

• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex problems and issues in a concise manner (oral/written) to many different audiences; ability to clearly communicate with customers, peers and upper management

• Working job knowledge with BAPIs, BADIs and enhancements

• Lead Build-to-Support knowledge transitions

• Lead onsite and offshore team in day to day activities concerning the IT support

• Guides team members with priorities and tasks lists

• Proactively identifies and fixes issues by raising awareness and seeks alignment

• Manage work across multiple teams or projects with little oversight

• Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities to grow team skills

• Responsible for client communication tailoring the message per audience

• Present deliverable status updates to IT/Business leadership as required

• Functional/technical proficiency with at least 2+ full lifecycle SAP implementations

• Excellent skills in Heuristics and SNP Alerts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field such as Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Business or related field preferred or equivalent work experience

• 4+ years experience in related field along with hands-on experience in SAP preferred

• 4+ years of industry and/or consulting experience.

• Working knowledge of two or more technologies preferred

• At least 4 years of SAP experience implementing APO BW, DP, SNP and gATP

• Expert level SAP skills in SAP APO 7.0 with good understanding of Demand Planning, Supply Network Planning, Global ATP (GATP) and Integrations of procure to Pay and Order to Cash processes in SAP ECC 6 MM and SD Modules including CIF

• Understands the implications of APO processes on day to day business activities. Identifies opportunities and proposes improvements to processes

• Experience in writing business cases for funding requests on a medium to large scale SAP projects

• At least 1 full life cycle implementation using ASAP methodology

• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills.

• Proficient PC skills; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

• Good understanding and implementation of industry and SAP best practices

What Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
  • Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.
  • Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
  • Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.
