JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing improvement projects, and/or provide diagnostic subject matter expertise to enhance the overall reliability, efficiency, and safety of the plant.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct root cause analysis and prepare reports for management use

  • Provide primary or backup technical support for various plant system and processes

  • Utilize experience, knowledge, and online monitoring systems and tools to analyze, trend, and monitor plant equipment performance data in an effort to improve plant operation

  • Provide technical support to maintenance, outage, and capital projects

  • Technical Lead on specific / complex projects

  • Support equipment problem solving, condition assessments, and represent Entergy during OEM discussions or shop repairs. May engage in the review of diagnostic services (vibration analysis, off-line motor testing, Infra-red, performance testing, vacuum leak-detection, etc.) done by a 3rd party.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience

  • Desired:

  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or B.S. Degree in Science in a technical field

Minimum experience required of the position:

  • Tech Support Specialist Sr: 6+ years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:

  • Proficiency in all applications of the Microsoft Toolkit

  • Must possess good computer skills

  • Ability to work independent of direct supervision

  • Good communication skills also required

  • Duties often require call outs and work after normal hours

  • Be able to keep records and reports
