BAE Systems is searching for a high energy, detail-oriented and innovative thinker who is excited about the opportunity to develop and execute the communication/engagement strategy for the Total Rewards Center of Expertise (COE), in partnership with the Inc. internal communication team. The Total Rewards Engagement Manager will be responsible for promoting company-sponsored Total Rewards benefits and compensation programs. Content development is a shared responsibility with other internal and external partners. The right person for this position ensures that content and messaging are consistent and compliant, that employee experience and corporate culture are at the forefront of everything we produce, and that the Total Rewards Mission is supported and promoted.

This position is located at the corporate headquarters facility in Falls Church, VA. A flexible 9/80 work schedule is available for this hybrid position, which offers a combination of remote and on-site hours to maximize camaraderie, collaboration, and innovation.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage communications / engagement strategies for the Total Rewards function that educate employees to understand and value their company-sponsored pay and benefits programs;

  • Strategize, develop and manage annual campaigns:

  • Annual calendars that reflect strategic and tactical priorities for Total Rewards;

  • Annual Compensation Planning (ACP) cycle (typically a six-month effort);

  • Annual Benefits Enrollment campaign (typically an eight-month effort) to explain benefit plan changes and encourage active participation in this annual process.

  • Manage project details and work with vendors or internal teams to deliver professionally produced print, digital, and multimedia products;

  • Catalogue / understand our existing standard communications / engagement materials; identify content gaps or inconsistencies;

  • Collaborate with vendor partner resources to create communications with content that is consistent, compliant, appealing and understandable to the end user. Examples include:

  • Electronic communications email announcements, Manager Talking Points, FAQs, Intranet postings, vendor-managed websites, digital displays and total rewards portal;

  • Paper communications brochures, postcards, cover letters, and posters;

  • Meetings PowerPoint presentations;

  • Various ad hoc campaigns.

  • Coordinate with Inc. Communications team to create, schedule and distribute enterprise-wide or targeted communications;

  • Ensure content on various Total Rewards or vendor websites is accurate and current;

  • Ensure compliance with company communications standards, branding, and regulatory requirements;

  • Assist with communications strategy, planning and execution related to major vendor transitions;

  • Evaluate effectiveness of communications campaigns with reporting metrics to improve and evolve internal content and channels.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree in human resources, journalism, or related field and 10 years of prior relevant experience;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;

  • Highly collaborative; able to constructively challenge and effectively influence and inspire team members and build broader consensus;

  • Experience in creating Total Rewards communications / engagement strategies and tactics and the delivery of supporting communications materials;

  • Demonstrated effective use of traditional and social media employee engagement channels.

  • Skills to strategize, prioritize and manage multiple initiatives and deliver against deadlines in a fast-paced environment;

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, yet effectively work across functions and organizational layers, including with senior management.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Knowledge of employee benefit and compensation plans and programs and experience in creating related and cohesive communications preferred;

  • Experience working in an HR environment;

  • Finance acumen to help comprehend communication of details pertaining to retirement and incentive plans;

  • Project management and organizational skills a strong plus;

  • Experience in the defense and aerospace industry;

  • Background in journalism.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $124080 - $210980

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
