The person assuming this role will reflect our purpose through leading their product category / consumer segment in the creation of a comprehensive merchandise strategy to deliver against consumer/retailer needs. They will ensure financial performance on designated key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved for their product category. As part of the Merchandising team, you will have exposure to leaders and functions across the organization – including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain & Operations, and Product Development.

How You Will Make a Difference

What you will do:

  • Merchandising Briefs: Drives creation of merchandising briefs and product line strategy for women’s tops & outerwear category segment.

  • Assortment Strategy: Collaborates with Merchandising Director and Design partners with setting development priorities by providing white space analysis generated through market intelligence, surveillance, and share reporting.

  • Financial Planning: In partnership with the Merchandising Director establishes near term and long-term segment financial plans.

  • Pricing Strategy: Provides development and assessment of wholesale and retail pricing strategies to drive value and profitability. Provides cost targets to design organization for requested seasonal development.

  • Line Execution : Responsible for ongoing product line management, including setting style/sku level productivity targets, and product portfolio management. Primary liaison between supply chain/sourcing/manufacturing regarding product line execution.

  • Calendar Management : Develops seasonal product development calendars and drives accountability for timeline adherence.

  • Customer Focus: Attends key customer product line strategy and seasonal line release meetings and presents product line in role of segment/category expert.

  • Collaboration: In partnership with Marketing and Merchandising Director establishes go to market (GTM) strategies and communication plan for new product launches.

  • Forecasting: Attends key customer demand reviews (contract & productivity) and is responsible for reporting demand changes.

Performance Metrics: Shares responsibility with Merchandise Director and Apparel Leader for achieving goals relating to PBT, Revenue, Gross Margin.

Skills for Success

Years of Related Professional Experience: 3-5 years professional experience including proven track record of working in the workwear and/or fashion lifestyle apparel industry with a rudimentary knowledge of the apparel retail space.

Educational Position Requirements: A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

What we expect you already know:

  • Strategic w/ proven ability to grow a category and bring big ideas to market

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written, strong cross functional collaboration skills required

  • Strong presentation skills, proven ability to influence in front of accounts

  • Strong understanding of assigned marketplace, including regional differences and across diverse channels of distribution

  • Ability to play and integral role within a broader team, connect the department and individual expectations to company vision; confidence and presence to lead a diverse team

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Ability to work with others as part of cross-functional team, build consensus, and achieve results across a variety of distinct groups.

  • Experience in retail sales analysis, business planning, costing, and pricing analytics

  • Understanding of sales, product design, development and manufacturing process

Hiring Range :

$68,000.00 USD - $85,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
