Job Description

SAIC is looking for an experienced logistics person for coordinating/leading logistics functions, which may include the maintenance of property records, distributing inventory, calculation /recommendation of spare parts and other supplies, perform integrated logistics support (ILS) analysis and collect data for the development of logistics support analysis reports (LSAR). Logistician will provide direction to achieve goals in accordance with established policies, and review work objectives and schedules of completion. This Logistics subject matter expert will be an integral member of a government management office located at Redstone Arsenal, AL. This person will be primarily responsible for to provide direction, oversight and management of the activities for procurement, materiel and property accounting using several government automated processes involving several automation systems. Tasks involve the interface with senior government personnel, preparation of specialized reports and presentations that will be used to make procedural decisions. This person will provide ethical governance to train personnel in their responsibility to be “Good Stewards” of government property and administer programs for hand receipting property as well as oversight of procurement activities. The objectives for the logistics SME include physical and financial control over DoD property and integration of financial and property data for control management, general logistics operations and expenditure reports.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related experience or high school diploma and 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • Experience as a stock control clerk, parts clerk or storekeeper with civilian factories, repair shops, department stores and government warehouses and stockrooms.

Required Skills:

  • Stock control and accounting procedures.

  • Procedures for shipping, receiving, storing and issuing stock.

  • An ability to keep accurate records.

  • A preference for physical work, and an ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

  • An interest in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.

  • Knowledge and understanding of US Army Property Book and supply procedures (AR 710-2)

  • Facilities management experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Prior US Army Military service as a supply warrant officer or senior supply sergeant.

  • Experience with property book accounting systems.

  • Property Book Unit Supply.

  • Enhanced (PBUSE)

  • GCSS-Army Property, Supply, Maintenance functions.

  • Department of Defense Accounting System (DPAS)

  • Auto-Scan Tracking System (ASTS)

  • Society of Logistics Engineers (SOLE) certification or other professional logistics affiliation
