The Hershey Company Night Shift Production Supervisor in Indiana

Job Location: Plymouth, IN * Please note that this position will supervise the “B Crew” (2-2-3 6:00pm-6:00am shift).* * Summary:* This position reports directly to the Production Manager and it is responsible for overall production operations and standards within the department including continuous improvement of operating results by meeting schedules, controlling costs, and inventory. This role directs and coordinates activities concerned with the production of company products. * Responsibilities:* * Plans, directs, and coordinates production activities and priorities to obtain maximum efficiency of operations * Reviews, develops, and implements methods, procedures, and reports to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. * Assumes responsibility for costs, methods, operations, quality, and quantity of production. * Revises production schedules and priorities because of equipment failure or operating problems. * Communicates with management to establish production and quality control standards, obtains data regarding quantities, specifications, and delivery dates. * Promotes a team atmosphere, takes pride in workmanship, must be self-motivated, and provides timely and accurate work. * Communicates with associates on shift on an ongoing basis about the status of the shift * Review and check daily production paperwork for accuracy and completion * Follow all SOPs for production, shipping and receiving and sanitation * Perform daily inspection of the facility each shift * Monitor and report attendance of team members on shift * Perform weekly and monthly inventory on raw material and finished goods. * Performs other functionally related duties as assigned * Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:* * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals. * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form. * Ability to lead team members in a fast-paced production atmosphere * Good time management skills * Good organizational skills * Proficiency with MS office * Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:* * High School diploma or GED, Preferred associate degree * Minimum 2 years manufacturing supervisor experience * Food manufacturing experience preferred * Physical demands & work environment:* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The team member must be able to lift with both hands and lift overhead with both hands. The team member must demonstrate good visual acuity and hand/eye coordination. Must be able to talk/communicate and hear.
