HomeGoods Store Planning Analyst:

The HomeGoods Store Planning Analyst is responsible for less than chain analysis which identify merchandising trends and opportunities to maximize business. Provides information to Senior Management, Planning & Allocation, and Merchandising for use in decision making. Partners with key stakeholders to provide recommendations as a result of analysis.

Job Description:

  • Clusters: Partner with MBDs and P&A on key lower level/clusters opportunities to maximize business and drive profitable sales; Provide plan guidance and clear OTB for ease of execution. Ensure OTBs are filled; influence merchants as needed. Contributes to the evolution of process through development of new, streamlined tools that will provide further insight. Travels to markets, reviews store performance and evaluates competitor’s assortments. Identifies new product opportunities to add to the mix

  • Zone Guidance: Drive sales through providing compelling Zonal Guidance to Core Planning to maximize opportunities. Support the process via DC/Zone Inv guidance, Ranking suggestions and Volume band methodology

  • Initiatives: Collaborate with Merchandising, Core Planning and other Business partners to vet sales driving opportunities through product tests/initiatives. Track performance of merchandise against a control group to determine success. Work with Manager to present findings and go-forward recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Reports: Create and analyze numerous standard and ad-hoc Store Planning reports designed to identify departmental business opportunities to improve sales, gross profit, and inventory levels. Some of these reports may include: LP Summary reports, Zonal S/S report, LP by dept. /zone, etc.

  • Homesense Support: Assist Manager in key Store Planning function related to HomeSense including Inventory & Floor Plan management, New store tracking, seasonal considerations, etc. Partner with cross functional teams to ensure various components related to HomeSense are executed and communicated efficiently/timely.


  • 3-5 years of business analysis experience

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and quantitative skills

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Proactive, detailed-oriented, and results-driven

  • Proficient PC and intermediate/advanced spreadsheet skills: Microsoft Office Excel (pivot tables, function logic and lookup/reference formulas and charts), MS Access and PowerPoint a plus
