Role Value Proposition:

The Sr. Investment Planning & Analysis Consultant is responsible for providing support and counsel to the Investments department in a broad array of areas. Key responsibilities will be to lead a small team to organize and prepare data and reporting materials with accuracy, meet deadlines, anticipate questions, and prepare the leadership team for various events, including: Executive Group meetings, Investment Committee meetings, Dedicated Business Reviews, quarterly earnings calls, rating agency reviews and regulatory responses. A multi-faceted and dynamic role, the position requires an experienced, dedicated professional who can lead and manage with effectiveness and efficiency and has a strong working knowledge of investments, data and business process. The candidate will be expected to work closely with the Finance team to understand and report on matters such as Net Investment Income (NII).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and prepare materials for various events, including: Executive Group meetings, Investment Committee, Board of Director Reporting, Dedicated Business Reviews, quarterly earnings calls, rating agency reviews and regulatory requests

  • Partner with Finance to create an effective and automated NII projection process

  • Contribute to the development of the investment plan

  • Lead the annual budget planning process

  • Lead development of Financial Stress Process

  • Lead Reporting & Analytics team across Investments

  • Create Sensitivity Analysis model on impact to RBC due to change in Invested Assets

  • Maintain a high degree of awareness/knowledge of current economic and investment activities to anticipate potential investment issues

  • Monitor calendars and events to anticipate requirements of the CIO

  • Manage CIO speaking engagements, including coordination of materials

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships across the Enterprise

  • Maintain confidentiality of information and materials

  • Respond to ad hoc requests in a timely manner

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – the ability to convey a broad array of information succinctly and accurately

  • Strong Investment background

  • Excellent organization, planning and time management skills and the ability to multitask.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Ability to interface with all levels of management

  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to change in a dynamic environment

  • Excellent analytical skills and investment and business acumen

  • Strong accounting and analysis background

  • Strong project management skills with high level attention to detail

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
