American Express Financial Analyst/Senior Analyst - Global Consumer Decision Analytics in New York, New York

The Decision Analytics team drives strategic decisions for the Global Consumer Service Group by diving below the P&L and into the segment, product, and customer level analyses. The candidate will be part of a quantitative finance team made up of highly talented individuals with strong intellectual curiosity. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to work with the leadership team, gain deeper understanding of the GCSG business model and build key business relationships.

Responsibilities include: * Leverage analytical and quantitative skills to provide decision support to business teams on key initiatives * Partner across Finance, Risk and Business to derive strategic insights and evaluate profitability * Provide thought leadership into key findings and actionable recommendations to influence business strategy * Develop product profitability analytics to support investment and strategic decisions

Qualifications: * Highly motivated individual with desire to work on ambiguous projects; With the ability to break down and execute on complex ideas * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with good attention to detail * Ability to solve ad hoc business problems independently and manage multiple priorities and projects while adhering to deadlines * Strong desire and ability to learn * Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills * SQL and SAS knowledge strongly preferred * Bachelor’s degree required, quantitative field preferred
