Mechanical Engineer responsible for the conceptual and detail design and analysis of advanced hardware through the full product life cycle. Collaboratively work with individuals from complementary disciplines within the Engineering, Manufacturing and Sub-Contracts organizations. Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of new aerospace and related products. Work with little direction and develop advanced technical principles, techniques and concepts. Provide stress analysis support for product design. Specifically, must be proficient in stress analysis, finite element analysis, structural testing, structural test correlation. Must be knowledgeable in structural analysis, report writing, presentations preparation and oral delivery. Requires knowledge of related application software such as Nastran, Abaqus, NX, I-DEAS, FEMAP, Patran, HyperMesh, BetaCAE. Provide general program support toward achieving technical, schedule, and cost performance objectives for production and design engineering. Assist with production issues resolution and root cause analysis. Communicate technical status and issues to internal and external program and functional leadership. Occasional travel to provide on-site support at customer and suppliers locations.

Basic Qualifications -Candidate must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance. -Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Mechanical Engineering or related field). -Provide stress analysis support for product design. -Specifically, must be proficient in stress analysis, finite element analysis, structural testing and structural test correlation. -Requires knowledge of related application software such as Nastran, Abaqus, NX, I-DEAS, FEMAP, Patran, HyperMesh and BetaCAE. -Significant experience with FEA modeling. -Basic knowledge of manufacturing methods. -Must be knowledgeable in structural analysis, report writing, presentations preparation and oral delivery. -Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of new aerospace and related products. -Work with little direction and develop advanced technical principles, techniques and concepts. -Provide general program support toward achieving technical, schedule, and cost performance objectives for production and design engineering. -Experience in hardware design and development. -Skilled stress analyst.

Desired skills -Excellent oral and written communication skills. -Trained in root cause and corrective action analysis methods. -Ability to work multiple technical activities concurrently and working knowledge of manufacturing methods. -Sound knowledge of materials, finishes and engineering properties desired. -Understand importance of program detail schedules and task tracking/reporting. -Can plan and prioritize work appropriate to schedule. -Skilled in all Microsoft Office products. -Excellent verbal & written communication skills are a necessity. -Previous Lockheed Martin experience a plus.
