Sprint Business Intelligence Analyst III in Overland Park, Kansas

Job Summary

Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences utilizing established mathematical/statistical methodologies. Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. Utilizes advanced data analysis skills to explain business issues and financial implications, identify and recommend workflow improvements enable business unit to improve workflow processes. Works with various business units to accomplish objectives. May directly produce datasets and reports for analysis using internal reporting tools. Provides consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues.

This position is responsible for assessing longer-term strategic Network programs from an end-to-end perspective. Functions include developing cost/benefit models and performing sensitivity analysis focused on strategic programs. An important responsibility of this position will be creating executive level communication on strategic options.

This position also involves the following:

Predictively forecast when project outcomes/key tasks are expected to complete, based upon actual completions and current/historical /market data, and communicate risks/focus areas/actions to stake holders.

Regressively forecast what key tasks need be done, and by when to achieve desired project outcomes (i.e. On-Airs, $ Savings), based upon interpolation of current/historical/market data, and communicate risks/focus areas/actions to stake holders.

Engage key stake holders into compelling action, with clearly communicated data evaluations, risks, predictions, recommended actions/focus areas, and escalations.

Develop and apply refined presentation skills and translate the data analyses into easy to understand and compelling messages for either A.) focused actions to be taken to deliver desired outcome results, or B.) convey a clearer and deeper understanding of the data, or higher confidence level of expected outcome results predictions.

  • Very strong analytic and modeling development skills,
  • Polished communication skills (written, oral, detail-to-high level executive presentation generation and delivery), and strong interpersonal skills able to effectively interface at all levels from cross-functional individual contributors to senior executives,
  • Ability to learn, adapt and apply creativity.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school
  • Three years experience with analytics toolsets (e.g., SAS, SQL, Oracle, Teradata, MS Excel, Micro Strategies, etc.)
  • Three years experience designing business intelligence analytics and relational data structures
  • Three years experience developing complex reports and perform complex analyses of information in reports.

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive experience with analytic & project management tools including Alteryx, MS Excel, MS Project; with experience programing in macros, complex multi-nested formulas, other aspects of semi-automation,

  • Financial acumen in areas of ROI, EVA analysis,
  • Statistical analysis experience in practical business application,
  • Wireless Network Cell Site Deployment experience,
  • Advanced presentation experience in generating complex graphs, charts, tables or other representations that clearly communicate content, risks, focus areas
