Job Responsibilities / Key Deliverables:
Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements
Health & Safety of self and colleagues including outside contractors or support personnel
Evaluate existing tooling and develop in source plans for tools.
Support all tooling development activities
Project leader for all tooling related engineering changes
Lead individuals and team meetings when implementing engineering changes, improvements, and major repairs
Tool and Die support during on-line troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions
Handle root cause analysis and repair plans
Communicate with contractors and shops for outside repairs
Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary
Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies, based on specifications.
Create, document, develop and deliver procedures to ensure the tooling meets all targets relating to Quality, Cost and Delivery
Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
Support the Quality group in evaluation and improvement of product dimensional reports
Develop and maintain die drawing library
Focus on Tool & Die knowledge and implement continual training to employees
Develop spare parts requirements and assist in procurement options
Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
Improve overall processes and related issues by taking a pro-active lead in the Continuous Improvement Activities by supporting team functions by:
Kaizen submittal and implementation
Develop Cross-training/Multi skilling
Supports operational metrics and meets operational needs
