Job Purpose:

This position will work in Caterpillar Research and Development Center (CRDC).

As off road vehicle tech leader, you will partner with and provide technical guidance to technical teams and coach team members you will direct and contribute to the concept development and design of systems and configuration you will contribute to the planning and delivery of projects to ensure products provide superior customer value in comparison to the competition in terms of features performance durability and quality with considerations of cost manufacturing velocity and serviceability. Also need to evaluate new products and competitive products perform product maintenance; keep up-to-date on new technologies or develop new technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Advanced concepts that align the product strategy understand complex technical problems and demonstrate the ability to develop creative solutions.

• Conceptual design skills an understanding of customers needs and product application as well as the competitive products and understanding cost drivers keeping up-to-date with technology and developing increased technical breadth and depth

• Lead determining optimal machine layout, modularity strategy and power system for the machine. Develop machine technical specifications based on functional requirements

• Ensure machine technical specifications are cascaded properly to engineering sub-systems

• Interface with engineering teams and analyze cost/ performance trade-offs between concepts, systems, etc

• Support and facilitate design reviews throughout the machine development stages

• Responsible for ensuring the Machine drawings are released and maintained in the engineering data system.

• Supported by Build Engineer, lead the overall execution and planning of PD builds and validation.

Additional: off road truck system and components testing experience preferred; Experience of project management issue resolution; Be Familiar with national standard of off road truck; Be Familiar with China Market and customers; Fluent in both Chinese and English; Flexibility to travel
