BAE Systems Maintenance Manager I in York, Pennsylvania

Job Description

The BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems site in York, Pennsylvania is seeking a Maintenance Manager I to support the first shift operations and oversee the second, third, and weekend shift managers. This role will operate on a 9/80 working schedule. In this role as a Maintenance Manager I you will:

  • Oversee all maintenance activities to ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all BAE Systems safety and maintenance procedures as well as OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other applicable regulatory guidelines to attain 0 recordable accidents and 0 lost dayaccidents.

  • Manage first shift union multi-craft bargaining unit personnel in the timely and effective preventive and corrective maintenance of heavy manufacturingmachinery.

  • Manage the second, third, and weekend Maintenance Shift Managers.

  • Define priorities and lead personnel to ensure machine tolerances are maintained while minimizing productiondelays.

  • Have knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradely, and like controls systems.

  • Respond to all production equipment repair needs to ensure adequate and appropriate resources are applied to attain a goal of 95% machineuptime.

  • Track and trend Preventive Maintenance scheduled completions to ensure 95% on-time completionrate.

  • Work closely with Operations Line Supervisors, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, Production Scheduling, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering to coordinate downtime for machine calibrations and preventive maintenance to ensure minimal impact to productionschedule.

  • Maintain status boards daily to ensure visible, accurate, and timely production machinestatus.

  • Brief leadership daily on priorities and activities associated with production machine downtime and bargaining unit craftsstatus.

  • Meet with off shifts daily to communicate priorities and activities for shiftturnover.

  • Review and approve all completed work orders for quality, accuracy, and completeness and close out work orders in compliance with BAE Systemsprocedures.

  • Maintain EAM, databases, and process documents to ensure appropriate asset management of all productionequipment.

  • Contacts and coordinates outside vendors to contract expertise for machine calibrations andrepair.

  • Responsible for all aspects of Maintenance Bargaining Unit craftsmen worktime management including timecard verification, vacation requests, disciplinary action, paygrade advancement, training, tools, vehicle usage, and workschedules.

  • Accountable to the York Site Maintenance & Facilities Manager II and Site Leader for compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations, and all applicable BAE Systems procedures

  • Meet daily with cross functional teams to ensure Operational Excellence.

  • Participate in TPM functional walks and update operations on related work request status.

  • Champion continuous improvement to drive innovation and furthercapabilities.

  • Weekend work and overtime as scheduled or as required to support ongoing projects/ maintenanceactivities.

  • Ability to travel to other CMS if supportrequired.

  • Any applicable assignments or tasks not specifically identifiedabove.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM field and 8years'work experience.

  • Experience in Maintenance Management within Industrial/Manufacturingenvironments.

  • Experience in People Management/Leadership within Unionized Maintenanceenvironment.

  • Experience in operating and/or maintaining high precision rotatingmachinery.

  • Experience in generating written instructions to guide maintenanceactivities.

  • Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E regulatory and safety guidelines.

  • Proficient in MS Office with the ability to utilize Oracle ERP.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Team player with a high sense of urgency and ownership.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and identify issue resolutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Highly organized.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degreen in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Degree or Certification in Maintenance or related.

  • Training in Total and Predictive Preventative Maintenance.

  • Training in maintenance scheduling.

  • Experience in Defense Contracting (DoD)

  • Experience in Oracle

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $102800 - $174800

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
