The Opportunity

Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for the role of Project Coordinator - Medical, Scientific, and Clinical Affairs for our Abbott Park, IL location. The primary function of this position is to economically and efficiently coordinate services for Transfusion Medicine Medical, Scientific, and Clinical Affairs (MSCA) in compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and objectives. The Project Coordinator works under the supervision of the Director of Scientific Affairs to coordinate the execution of actions and projects that maximize value and support MSCA activities on time and within budget. This position navigates a range of actions, including but not limited to invoice settlement, expense reporting/payment, Disclosure Agreement generation, Services Agreement generation, Licenses, Sponsorships, and Statements of Work.

In addition, this role anticipates, identifies, and resolves issues to ensure final deliverable disposition is of the best value for quality, pricing, and service while demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and other value-adding activity to support functional, business unit, and customer needs and expectations.

What You’ll Work On

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedures.

  • Prepare, negotiate, and implement agreements that maximize value and support TM activities on time, in budget, and in compliance with process parameters.

  • Timely communication of issues that could impact project or deliverable timelines.

  • Work closely with Legal, Procurement, OEC.

  • Understand cost drivers and notify team of any opportunities or risks to quality, service, or execution.

  • Develop and maintain necessary contracting documentation according to departmental policies and procedures.

  • Ensure proactive and open communication with functional and cross-functional team members.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinate, navigate, and execute invoicing, expense reporting, and other payments.

  • Coordinate, draft, negotiate, and/or route standard contract and report types, including but not limited to: Confidential Disclosure Agreements, meeting planning, Amendments, Consulting Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, Investigator Initiated Study agreements, Collaborative Research Study agreements, Statements of Work, Licensing Agreements, Sponsorship Agreements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-4 years experience with fluency navigating Abbot invoicing and procurement (Ariba, SBM, others).

The base pay for this position is $64,000.00 – $128,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
