The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL or Sylmar CA location in the GENC General Counsel division.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning and oversight of all aspects of projects/programs related to strategic initiatives with the aim of ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently and are completed on time and within budget. Deliver strategic program support by proactively undertaking a wide range of administrative tasks, project support for strategic initiatives, including program planning and reporting, budget management, communication, coordination and tracking of activities to deliver key milestones.

What You’ll Work On

  • Work with members of the project/program teams and stakeholders to help plan activities, develop schedules and oversee (track) progress to make sure goals are met on time

  • Supports project execution which may include identifying tasks, and identify/manage risks and issues, and independently executing assigned tasks.

  • Track progress against plans to manage end-to-end program activities,

  • Works with initiative director and manager to create and run project reports and implement updates through appropriate change control, including assessments of scope, cost, and schedule.

  • Capable of working independently or as a member of a team.

  • Independently manages own workload by balancing multiple tasks/projects, prioritizing work based on criticality and urgency, and completing tasks on time.

  • Begins establishing and cultivating a network of internal resources to facilitate completion of tasks.

  • Participates in special projects as they arise.

  • May exercise authority within pre-established limits and approval.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent experience

  • 5+ years’ work experience including several years of project management experience and success in managing complex organization transformational projects

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint & Word

  • Demonstrated experience with PM tools (e.g., Planner, Smartsheets, Google Suite, JIRA, etc.) and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)

  • Experience of working with cross functional groups.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in consulting or proven experience in supporting programs and projects in complex organization is a plus

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are essential

  • Displays good judgement, self-motivation and excellent organizational skills.

  • Able to work to agreed deadlines.

  • Demonstrates good interpersonal and presentation skills in order to update line management and team members.

The base pay for this position is $48,000.00 – $96,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
