Our Nutrition Division currently has an opportunity for a Senior Specialist, External Engagement.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Work with the Associate Director of External Engagement to identify and execute external engagement strategies designed to protect Abbott’s reputation and expand Abbott’s influence globally.
Proactively assess emerging business, raw ingredient, packaging, regulatory, and legislative issues and align with internal and external stakeholders to resolve before supply chain disruptions occur.
Utilize external networks to inform and influence globally on relevant external issues in the ingredient and packaging spheres.
Work with the Global Procurement Team to provide solutions to ingredient and packaging supply issues.
Create opportunities and be the voice of Abbott Nutrition in influencing ingredient and packaging industries as well as governments, as appropriate, by participating in external forums such as speaking engagements, industry meetings, trade association activities, and identifying areas where Abbott colleagues can contribute as noted.
Develop and execute programs that create mutual community and company benefit.
Work closely with internal stakeholders from Abbott Government Affairs, Regulatory, Procurement, Quality, Research and Development, Manufacturing and Global Citizenship to develop and execute cohesive, time sensitive, strategies to solve complex business issues.
Identify, develop, and execute strategic projects and opportunities aligned with Abbott’s 2030 Sustainability Goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
BS in sciences, economics, international trade, public policy, political science, food science, business, engineering or related, MBA or advanced degrees welcome.
7-10 years of experience in government affairs, international trade policy, industry engagement, capacity building, regulatory affairs, food ingredient or packaging procurement, or other relevant field of expertise.
Ability to travel 25%
Proven ability to develop, implement, and sustain external engagement strategies in both emerging and developed markets.
A comprehensive network of contacts in food and/or packaging industries cultivated through academic, governmental, and private industry work experience.
An expert problem-solver who can influence diverse stakeholders to achieve goals of the organization.
An experienced international traveler able to travel independently to global destinations.
