Hilton Senior Lead Software Engineer CMS in Addison, Texas

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer CMS, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Content Management System (CMS) Software Engineering team reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, you will support projects to design, develop, and manage content-driven features across Hilton’s mobile and web channels.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Design, develop, configure, customize, and maintain the Content Management System that includes the following tasks: code reviews, write unit tests, bug fixes, build plans, understand and communicate downstream service dependencies, and other supportive responsibilities within the technical stack.
  • Collaborate with product and business teams on targeted features and functions and offer technical solutions to implement business objectives.
  • Integrate with applications such as Digital Asset Management, Media Asset Management, Taxonomy Management that are part of the content ecosystem.
  • Integrate the CMS with internal and external data sources using GraphQL and REST API’s.
  • Write clean and concise code that is stable, extensible and unit tested appropriately.
  • Advocate standard methodologies in design patterns, architectural principles, and coding standards.
  • Conduct detailed code reviews to maintain code quality and alignment to architectural guidelines.
  • Stay updated on technology trends and innovations, share knowledge and insights with the team.

How you will collaborate with others:

  • Collaborate with architects, product owners, delivery managers, quality engineers, designers, and other developers, offering technical guidance to help define requirements and implement solutions that meet business goals.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including grooming sessions, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.

What projects you will take ownership of:

  • Support the content orchestration and distribution to an omni-channel content platform.
  • Support projects that improve the guest experience through personalization and digitalization.

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of professional work experience within Technology or a related field
  • Six (6) years of experience working with any Java-based Content Management System (BloomReach Experience Manager, OpenText TeamSite, Adobe Experience Manager etc.)
  • Five (5) years of experience developing large-scale web applications using Java and web design patterns.
  • Four (4) years of experience with full cycle software development
  • Travel up to 5-10% as needed

It would be useful if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6 years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12 years of Technology related experience
  • Ten (10) years of professional experience within Technology or a related field
  • Eight (8) years of experience with full cycle software development in an Agile environment including design, coding, testing, release, and maintenance
  • Previous development experience building RESTful API’s or other API architectures like GraphQL
  • Experience with NoSQL databases and Messaging frameworks
  • Proven background in web development using technologies like Express.js, Next.js, and other related frameworks and libraries
  • Proficiency with Gitlab for version control and Atlassian Suite for team collaboration
