What You’ll Do:

As a Senior Algorithm and Data Science Engineer, you will be challenged to find novel algorithmic solutions to support the development of analytical software applications to help people with diabetes (PWDs) and their health care providers to better manage their diabetic conditions and progression. You will be given the opportunity to apply your knowledge in signal processing, statistical methods, and machine learning to analyze patient health data (such as Continuous Glucose Monitoring data) and develop algorithms to provide therapy/lifestyle guidance. You will be responsible for the development of algorithms through their lifecycles from proof-of-concept, to design/implementation iterations, to verification and validation.

The ideal candidate will be able to analyze data quickly and effectively from multiple sources and translate their findings into clear, actionable insights. Candidates should have strong skills in MATLAB, Python, or similar programming language. Previous work in within the medical device space is also highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform hypothesis-driven analysis of PWD user data from various sources (glucose monitors, medication delivery devices, activity trackers).

  • Participate in R&D initiatives to utilize time series data sets from multiple medical devices in the development of decision support algorithms for people with diabetes.

  • Work with a team of algorithm engineers to build an algorithm development framework to support R&D pipeline.

  • Lead the development of algorithm modules and collaborate with cross-functional teams including but not limited to system engineers, software development engineers and test engineers.

  • Support product definition: understand the product vision and help define the problems that need to be solved to realize this vision.

  • Support design control process for medical devices: requirement analysis, risk analysis, design documentation, and system/software verification and validation.

  • Responsible for utilizing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Education and Experience You'll Bring

Required

  • BS in engineering or physical science or related field or equivalent. MS degree ideal.

  • 6 yrs product development experience in Engineering or physical science.

  • Experience credit for advanced degrees beyond BS (2 years for Masters; 4 years for Doctorate).

  • Experience with algorithm product development, from proof of concept to design, implementation, and verification.

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: signal processing, optimization, machine learning algorithms, physiology modeling and simulation.

  • Experience with MATLAB and/or Python or similar programming language

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in an engineering domain or Computer Science is preferred.

  • Understanding of the diabetes space from disease etiology and pathogenesis through on-market devices and therapeutics is not required, but highly beneficial.

  • Significant experience with advanced data analysis of clinical or real-world evidence data in either a medical device or pharmaceutical setting.

  • Significant experience utilizing machine learning techniques for problem solving.

  • Product development experience in medical device industry

The base pay for this position is $95,500.00 – $190,900.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
