The Opportunity
This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. As a Project Engineer, you will Manage all aspects of an engineering project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.
What You’ll Work On
Develop, plans, coordinates project deliverables of major scope and importance.
Manage multiple, often concurrent projects and meets expectations.
Understand the business needs and has a thorough knowledge of the customer when developing a project scope. Incorporates business foresight of emerging technological trends.
Lead development of Project Charter (as needed) and documents the initial requirements that satisfy the stakeholder’s needs and expectations.
Establish Design Control project objectives for evaluating project results and activities of the project team.
Use established PM tools and techniques for establishing Communication Plans, identifying/managing risk, developing/maintaining schedules and delivering on overall project and organizational objectives.
Develop project plan documenting the actions necessary to define, prepare, integrate and coordinate all subsidiary plans. Directs and manages Project Execution by performing the work defined in the project plan to achieve project objectives.
Close projects by finalizing all activities across all the Project Management Process Groups to formally complete the project or phase.
Define project roles and responsibilities. Manages efforts of internal and external resources. Monitor and control project work to meet the performance objectives defined in the project plan.
Review change requests, to ensure alignment with project documents and the project plan.
Identify areas of risk and mitigates risks through early risk assessments and implementation of fallback / mitigation strategies.
Establish relationships and good communication channels with ADC and TPM project team members.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering discipline.
Minimum of 3 year of experience in related business
Demonstrated competence, plus engineering and/or operational experience.
Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
Listens to and understands others’ points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully one’s own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.
Works well with other engineers and/or Project Managers in a collaborative, fast-paced goal-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A technical background in health care, nutritional products, laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or similar industries (preferred)

The base pay for this position is $79,500.00 – $138,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
