The Opportunity

This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Diabetes Care division where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As the Project Manager you will act as the project management expert ensuring excellence in delivery of division and department projects. Develop, support, and maintain division wide Quality System applications (DMS/LMS) in compliance with ISO13485 and other regulatory and industry standards for medical devices.

What You’ll Work On

  • Lead a variety of different types of projects, including launching new products and services: system implementations, application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and Quality System application upgrades and deployments.

  • Directs medium-scale complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners.

  • Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope schedule and quality.

  • Directly manages all aspects of the project lifecycle and works with multiple stakeholders to oversee all Project Life Cycle phases of a project.

  • Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time cost and quality parameters.

  • Provides strong project leadership by employing industry project management best practices and standards.

  • Provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives.

  • Represents the project in various project governance and inter-department forums.

  • Chairs Core Team and other Governance Committee meetings to review progress with key constituents.

  • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining and reporting on the project delivery plan.

  • Develops the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, risk management plan and related project management.

  • Ensures compliance with project management processes and best practices.

  • Identify quality initiatives and provide influential leadership to drive proactive continuous Quality System improvements.

  • Maintain effective Quality metrics and define and execute activities to resolve decreases in performance.

  • Provide supervision and development of the Quality Systems staff.

  • Represent Quality Systems as required in support of cross-functional divisional projects.

  • Create, analyze, and process change items in compliance with QMS, ISO13485, business procedures, and other applicable standards.

  • May step in as temporary department lead as required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Minimum 5 years Project management experience.

Extensive knowledge of project management processes.

Extensive in-depth knowledge of project planning techniques and working knowledge of automated project planning tools required.

Preferred Qualifications

Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent desired.

Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver difficult messages; execute with limited information and ambiguity.

Leadership and influencing skills.

Sound business and technical acumen.

Experience with stakeholder management.

Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally.

Strong presentation skills.

Ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives.

Excellent multitasking, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Knowledge and experience with Quality System (DMS/LMS) applications preferred.

The base pay for this position is $95,500.00 – $190,900.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
