The Opportunity

The Sr. Research Scientist I, R&D will work in a project-driven biosensor R&D group.

What You'll Work On

The individual will conduct non-routine analytical tests in the lab on sensor materials and sensor models, for use in biosensor design, development, and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a relevant physical or life science, with 5+ years post-baccalaureate experience.

  • Expertise in electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, synthesis, polymer chemistry, organometallics, biologics, desired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Conduct analytical experiments to test new and existing biosensor concepts and the materials used in their construction, encompassing small molecules, organometallics, traditional polymers, and biologics. This will entail running analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, LCMS, GCMS, UV, GPC, viscometer, cyclic voltammeter, and interpreting results from these and other techniques such as NMR, MS, elemental.

  • Construct and test electrochemical biosensors in various formats for R&D purposes. This includes running laser cutting, automated liquid dispensing, and other custom equipment.

  • Access the chemical, biological, and engineering literature to provide insights to technical issues.

  • Present experimental results in group meetings.

  • Maintain lab equipment, QA records, and purchasing documentation.

  • Purchase materials and services and interface regularly with contract suppliers

  • Coordinate with internal functions such as Safety, Purchasing, Accounting.

The base pay for this position is $95,500.00 – $190,900.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
