Senior Back-End Engineer and Tech Lead

What does a successful Senior Back-End Engineer and Tech Lead do at Fiserv?

You will build technologies and experiences that impact millions of people worldwide from developer portals, APIs to crypto wallets. You will work closely with experienced frontend, backend engineers, designers, devops cloud engineers, product managers and program managers to understand what it takes to ship global products.

What you will do:

• Perform requirement analysis by collaborating with business and IT stakeholders

• Lead a team of backend/front end engineers, DevOps, QA and Product Owners to deliver on strategic priorities for the Digital Transformation team

• Create technical User Stories and estimate story points to complete the user stories and finalize the project scope for the upcoming sprint

• Perform application coding, system design, and unit testing to the agreed scope

• Perform unit testing and migrate the unit tested application code to test environment

• Collaborate with quality assurance engineers for system testing, integration testing and regression testing

• Provide required support to business users for the user acceptance testing

• Collaborate with the deployment team for production implementation

What you will need to have:

• 7-10 years of solid work experience as a backend developer with programming languages and frameworks like Java, Python and Spring and Spring Boot

• 5-7 years of experience with computer science fundamentals: algorithms and data structures, software design, design patterns, object-oriented programming

• 5-7 years of experience with development of REST APIs in multithreaded applications and microservices

• 5-7 years of experience with unit test frameworks like Mockito. Ability to perform unit testing and integration testing of the developed code, debugging and defect fixes

• 5-7 years of experience of build and source code management tools: Maven, Git, and experience with continuous integration

• 3-4 years of experience with cloud computing platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience

What would be great to have:

• Experience with containerization and cluster management technologies: Docker and Kubernetes

• Certifications or advance degree
