Primary focus is on compliance with chemistry and radiological regulations, but also includes bacteriological regulations. Key Accountabilities * Manage monitoring and reporting programs to ensure compliance with federal and state drinking water regulations. * Prepare, review, and maintain monitoring schedules. * Ensure compliance samples are collected within appropriate timeframes. * Ensure accuracy of results reporting. * Be a liaison between IL Water Quality and the Central Lab. * Support IL Water Quality by being a resource for compliance information, training, and troubleshooting. Knowledge/Skills * Knowledge of federal and state water quality drinking water standards and regulations, water treatment processes, and analytical testing principles is preferred. * Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office. * Good attention to detail. Experience/Education * Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field. * Experience in water, wastewater, and laboratory operations preferred. Travel Requirements * Local and regional. * Rare overnight travel may be required. Work Environment * Office environment. * Can include occasional outdoor work and treatment plant environment.
