Northrop Grumman is seeking NSSP Scholars to join the Mission Systems Intern Program. This position will be located in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Engineering andSciencesorganization.
The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other developers.
As an intern, you'll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of engineering specializations that may include:
Roles and Responsibilities
Solve complex technical issues with limited supervision
Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features using programming languages and/or scripting
Debug existing software and correct defects
Integrate software, data bases and/or data repositories
Preform and/or automate unit, integration and system level testing
Leverage requirements, data analytics and modeling tools and techniques
Make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2019.
Be majoring inComputer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cyber Security or comparable technical degree
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2019
Be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SCI with Polygraph clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Be a current NSSP Scholar
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
Good presentation and writing/communication skills.
Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment.
Experience with or leading Agile development teams
Experience with Amazon Web Services or cloud based development
Have a demonstrated understanding of software or systemsdesign principles (e.g. software design patterns)
