BAE Systems is seeking an experienced level Manufacturing Engineer . In this position, you will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our Anniston, AL facility on 1st shift, helping to build armored combat vehicles for the Paladin Program. This position will report onsite and on a 4/10 schedule.
This position will support production in a team-based manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting production by maintaining production work instructions, standard work, and assist materials with line side material delivery storage. You will also perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control systems, manufacturing operations, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process re-engineering. Finally, you may interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
This role will require you to travel 25% between Anniston, AL and Elgin, OK.
Maintain configuration control of work instructions and production drawings in both electronic and hard copy repositories on EPDM.
Create and modify assembly work instructions and production drawingsfrom engineering techincal data using PTC Creo models.
Work with floor support engineering, and bargaining unit employees to optimize manufacturing processes and document within the work instructions.
Develop and maintain Standard Work in partnership with Operations for established manufacturing processes.
Lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis to mitigate risks.
Evaluate design and production changes for there impact on manufacturing processes.
Analyze complex problems and provide structured corrective actions.
Audit, modify, and maintain manufacturing bill of materials (mBOM).
Proactively engage with departments to ensure timely completion of mBOMs and changes.
Develop line side storage solutions for materials with the creation of Plan for Every Part.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with safety objectives and policies.
Apply basic lean/six sigma principals to drive improvements to production processes.
Apply basic knowledge of the design of organization's products and technology to solve moderately. complex and clearly defined engineering problems.
Interact with employees located at multiple facilities across the country.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or relevant technical discipline; OR technical school degree with work experience (4 years)
Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Can work independently with minimal guidance
Basic literacy of 3D modeling software such as Creo or SolidWorks.
Effective communication skills.
Hands-on floor support experience, working with shop employees.
Understanding of root cause/corrective action/preventive action.
Strong understanding of bill of materials.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience with automotive repair either as a professional or hobbyist
Engineering experience with relevant applications in a defense environment
Specialized technical knowledge of relevant military and commercial design standards
Knowledge of machine design
Working knowledge of GD&T
Experience with PTC Creo/ProE
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77814 - $132283
