Thrivent Financial Manager, Strategic Initiatives in Appleton, Wisconsin
The Manager, Strategic Initiatives will support the shared services function within Commercial Operations. This position will ensure the seamless implementation of new technologies, processes, and initiatives within the Operations Team. To help drive a best-in-class client experience, this role will have particular focus on designing and refining staffing models across Commercial Operations excluding Contact Centers. This individual contributor role will provide the required analysis and collaborate across New Business, Underwriting, In-force Operations, Claims, Operations Fulfillment, and Mutual Funds.The Manager, Strategic Integration will report into the VP, Operations Development Organization. We are open to this position being remote.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Areas of focus include:
Work in partnership with Metrics and Staffing leader(s) to analyze data for staffing decisions.
Design and refine staffing models across Commercial Operations to ensure best-in-class service delivery.
Ensure all business requirements for strategic initiatives are defined and understood.
Partner with PMO integration across Operations.
Develop and adhere to all appropriate controls, including advising on procedural/process changes in response to regulatory changes or project scope changes.
Consulting with other key stakeholders on business implications of staffing and/or system changes/enhancements.
Participate in appropriate industry forums/groups to ensure alignment with industry trends and benchmarking.
Ensure the best use of the organizations resources by assisting with the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plans, projects, and initiatives.
Work closely with the leaders of New Business, Underwriting, Inforce, Claims, Operations Development and Operations Fulfillment to ensure alignment of departmental and company goals.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
A Master’s Degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience desired.
7-10+ years progressive experience that includes complex implementations in highly matrixed organizations.
Experience designing and refining staffing models to drive operational efficiency and best-in-class customer experience.
Demonstrated expertise in workforce planning.
Experience with automated decisioning tools in Underwriting and New Business, workflow management and implementing self-service functions (eSignatures, eDelivery, data feeds, etc.).
5+ years proven track record with workflow management system integrations (AWD experience strongly preferred) and process mapping.
Proven track record in Project Management (PMO) leadership, managing large initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, work independently, and under minimum supervision.
Experience navigating complex and matrixed organizations to achieve desired results.
Strong communication skills to inform and engage all layers of management and stakeholders.
Demonstrated vision and strategic leadership skills along with strong influencing abilities.
Experience with effectively leading through change; Passionate about leading on a large scale through others and leveraging systems to engage people and drive results.
