Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer Associate Manager in Archbald, Pennsylvania

Description: You will be a Manufacturing Engineer Associate Manager, providing oversight and leadership of the Manufacturing Engineering team supporting the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) area at our Archbald, PA facility. Our team specializes in designing, manufacturing, and engineering electronic assemblies, machined and welded assemblies/parts, and safety-critical systems for various defense and commercial applications.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Manufacturing Engineer Associate Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Supervision of all direct reports including career development, employee engagement, time approval, recruiting, staffing, and yearly reviews

• Assisting in establishing hazard prevention measures including personnel training programs for all phases of production operations including safety and ergonomics

• Being the circuit card SME with an in-depth knowledge of associated production processes including but not limited to fabrication, assembly, and special processes for both surface-mount and thru-hole variants to work quickly and efficiently in resolving issues

• Establishing methods for maximum utilization of the production facilities, equipment, and personnel utilizing lean six sigma concepts to improve capacity and work-flow efficiencies throughout production

• Ensuring router/mBOM development, work instructions, tooling/fixturing, and area layout changes are completed on-time to prevent late starts and achieve targeted requirements for cost, schedule, & quality

• Maintain a technical roadmap/functional excellence plan that identifies emerging technologies to improve work efficiencies, performance, and affordability including supporting the planning, purchase, & coordinating of capital equipment

• Engaging other LM sites to develop common processes and best practices to strengthen our partnerships to achieve 1LMX mission success

• Lead the team in providing proposal basis of estimates for both non-recurring & recurring tasks and providing thorough rationale for achieving performance targets

• Overseeing Manufacturing Engineering functional processes such as machine programming, preventive maintenance, tool orders, the Build-to-Print process, MPP redline process, etc. as established by both local and Command Media procedures.

• Brief functional management, project management, senior leaders, and customers as required on process technology, product issue resolution, personnel development plans and status, organization issues/progress, etc.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Eng, Manufacturing Eng, Electrical Engineering or other Engineering related discipline from an accredited college

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role leading small to large project or functional teams

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in all aspects of circuit card assembly for plated-thru-hole (PTH) and surface mount technology (SMT) production

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

• Excellent written and oral communication/interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment or independently to solve problems in a timely manner

• Demonstrated ability to read & interpret drawing requirements to develop work instructions

• Demonstrated application of lean/six-sigma manufacturing methods and techniques

• Demonstrated ability to track and manage cost, quality, and schedule in a manufacturing environment

• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and set up production work cells and facility layout changes

• Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect/analyze data and make the necessary improvements to achieve desired performance

• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance

• Must be a US Citizen

Desired Skills:

• Previous Manufacturing and/or Industrial Engineering role at a senior level in Circuit Card manufacturing

• Demonstrated ability programming and operating a variety of CCA production support equipment including component forming, pick-and-place, solder printing, hand soldering, wave soldering, selective-soldering, conformal coating, automated optical inspection, etc.

• Strong root cause and corrective action analysis skills for resolving issues

• Black Belt trained or certification in lean/six-sigma to drive continuous improvement

• Certifications or knowledge of IPC-610, IPC-620, J-STD-001

• Electro-mechanical, cable & harness assembly/fabrication experience

• Tooling and fixture design including modeling & 3D printing

• Use of configuration management tools and MRP/ERP production system (i.e. SAP, Windchill, APRISO)

• Use of 2D and 3D modeling programs such as Auto-CAD and CREO

• Master’s Degree in Industrial Eng, Manufacturing Eng, or other Engineering related discipline from an accredited college

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
