United States Steel Production Planner, BRS in Arkansas

Objective of the Job:

Ensure policies, procedures and operating strategies are carried out to support production plan, BRS goals, and objectives at the Site level and in the Product Development and Quality Department as assigned and to provide daily detailed schedules and develop strategies that support organizational objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.

2) Interface with Management, Operating, Commercial, and Quality personnel to ensure that current mill conditions, customer requirements, and quality concerns are understood and accounted for in the daily sequencing process

3) Make recommendations to Director for improvements the current systems and processes; ensure the development and refinement of sequencing rules and systems

4) Provide accurate reporting to Management, Operating, Commercial, and/or Quality departments

5) Willingness to learn and develop to give backup to Planner 2

6) Any other responsibility deemed necessary by Production Planning management

Qualifications:

1) Good organizational / time management skills with strong technical and analytical problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

2) Strong communication and computer skills is a plus; ability to independently and to work proactively with others and other departments

3) Committed to focusing on the needs of the Customer, Sales Team, and BRS Goals as a whole

4) High School graduate or equivalent Working

Conditions and Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to work in office setting with daily tasks in the mill, which could typically involve extreme environments from hot to cold. This position can require long hours, weekend and holiday coverage to support routine responsibilities and travel as required.
