As Senior Manufacturing Support at Caterpillar Inc., you will perform a variety of logistic support activities in the areas of logistics planning, materials planning, and packaging analysis and other duties as assigned.
In this role you may be expected to:
Manage the Athens Owned Custom Rack Process:
Conduct cycle counts with suppliers and the Athens team
Identify damaged racks and group for repairs
Work with Packaging Engineers to determine if we repair onsite vs. ship to suppliers
Develop and execute phased repair plans with vendors
Prepare and/or assemble required shipping documents, including BOLs
Track data to identify root causes and trends
Execute Annual Rack Cycle Count
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in rack loops, Conduct Root Cause Corrective Action Analysis, and notify appropriate personnel of results or required actions.
Manage Onsite Repair Process
Schedule and execute onsite repairs
Work with Packaging Engineers to develop standard work for simple repairs
Additionally, procure supporting components; and maintain appropriate levels of bolts, hinges, and dunnage material to support repairs.
Manage Purchase Order Process:
Initiate purchase or production requisitions as appropriate.
Ensure Purchase Orders are issued, tracked, invoiced, and closed out in a timely manner
Ensure tracking requirements and compliance controls are maintained
Coordinate with external rack vendors and suppliers to reduce rack repair costs
Basic Qualifications:
2-year degree or 4 years of direct experience in Manufacturing (Operations, Supply Chain, or Logistics)
Advanced Proficiency ( Advanced skills/knowledge and capable of functioning independently; can train others) in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
Willing and able to perform repetitive operations
Willing and able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Top Candidates will also have:
Project management experience and demonstrated decision making skills
Excellent communication skills and able to operate independently. Able to facilitate communication across multiple teams to develop, implement and execute repair schedules
At least 3 years of manufacturing experience
Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Office Word
Intermediate proficiency in SAP
Production planning experience
Smart Track system experience
Supplier Development experience
Inventory control experience
Additional Information:
Shift: 1st Shift
Work location: Athens, GA
Hours: M-F, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Although uncommon, work hours may be changed or mandatory overtime scheduled as business needs require.
Entry pay is $25.96/hour.
