HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Carter’s Corporate Finance internship is a summer program for candidates interested in a career in Finance at Carter’s. The intern will be gaining exposure to all facets of Corporate Finance through various job assignments across Corporate Finance. The intern will collaborate and interact with a wide variety of people within Carter’s to build relationships and a strong internal network.

Interns will benefit from experiences across the company and will build critical analytical and business skills.

Key responsibilities:

70%: Coordinate the consolidation of the financial and strategic planning processes

  • Support corporate-level reporting and analysis (EPS reconciliation, Historical P&L, Guidance model, Inventory, Inflation, high level operating income reconciliations)

  • Provide analysis to business leaders in support of projects, new business investments, and other profit or cost reduction opportunities

  • Prepare consolidated materials and create executive reporting packages for key meetings and forecast cycles (Monthly Business Review meetings, Leadership Team meetings, Earnings preparation, Board of Directors meetings, and monthly/quarterly reporting)

30%: Support strategic initiatives and ad hoc analysis as needed

  • Execute specified projects, tasks, and / or deliverables; understand objectives, identify resources, meet set timelines, communicate results and present deliverables

  • Effectively communicate project scope, strategy, status and results to high level management

  • Simplify processes and automate standard reporting; explore and leverage implement business intelligence tools for reporting (i.e., Tableau, Hyperion)

  • Provide back-up support for other finance teams as needed, coordinate with broader FP&A team to provide support and cross train,

  • Ad hoc projects depending on the current needs of the business

  • Work with all levels of the organization to improve effectiveness through better information

  • Perform ad hoc analysis which enables tactical and strategic decision making. Provide direction and make recommendations.

  • Working towards completion of bachelor’s degree with focus on business, finance, and/or accounting

  • Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0

  • Consummate team player who is willing to provide a high level of assistance to the finance and accounting team

  • Required: leadership ability: strong communicator and decision-maker

  • Required: top-caliber critical thinking skills and curious personality

  • Required: problem solver: analytical-minded, solves complex problems, aim for improvements

  • Required: proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint

  • Required: strong interpersonal skills, highly collaborative working and communication style

  • Preferred: understanding of business concepts/strategy; intern/co-op experience

  • Highly Preferred: highly organized and proven ability to multitask
