Description

Johnson and Johnson Vision, part of the Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies, is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer / Sr. Specialist. The position is in Atlanta, GA. The candidate must reside in the greater Atlanta area.

Candidate must have a valid US driver’s license.

Candidate will be in the field 75% of the time and 25% in their home office.

Provides on-site technical product services including installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and repairs for customers/sales group. This job is not eligible for sales incentives/sales commissions. Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installs, services, and repairs medical device equipment in external facilities to support sales team and customers.

  • Functions as a primary resource for stakeholders.

  • Provides frequent status updates and documented service reports to stakeholders.

  • Operate efficiently to conclude all on site installation, repair, maintenance, and test activities to factory specifications and perform other additional duties or projects as assigned.

  • Ensures that installation, maintenance, and other work necessary is completed on time.

  • Identifies problems and recommends resolutions on existing products and procedures.

  • Analyze service data, to schedule proactive and reactive service.

  • Work closely with colleagues for knowledge and skills transfer.

  • Ability to operate and maintain a corporate vehicle.

  • Maintain trunk inventory, manage, and preserve calibrated test equipment and other electronic devices.

  • Able to lift or move 50lbs, stand, squat, kneel, reach for extended periods of time, utilize hand tools, electronic test equipment to repair medical lasers and other medical devices.

  • Ability to acclimate to modified schedules.

  • Assists in the development of equipment maintenance and performs other additional duties or projects as assigned.

  • Documents and reports on field service activities as well as incorporates and promotes process improvements.

  • Conducts new product evaluations.

  • Participates in the generation of technical bulletins and basic operations and service procedures.

  • Technical proficiency on one or more product line modalities

  • Problem-solving & troubleshooting skills.

  • Customer service experience & data analysis experience

  • Good verbal & written communications skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Experience driving customer satisfaction and work improvement.

  • This position requires you to be in the office (home) 25% & in the field 75%

  • Ability to travel on short notice & do frequent air travel.

  • A valid US Driver’s license & ability to operate a vehicle.

  • Ability to work weekends and “off hours” as needed to support customer and business needs.

  • Ability to do heavy lifting of equipment and excessive standing, lifting, and bending will be required.

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Respect and always apply safety rules and procedures.

  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices related to health, safety, or environment.

  • Participate in incident investigation.

  • Standard test equipment to include digital multimeter.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate’s degree or Technical Certification required (Electronics, Bio-Medical, Optical, Mechanical) is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Required:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience

  • Computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office, Tableau, and similar software applications.

  • Maintains healthcare vendor credentialing as an employee for J&J Vision.

  • Works remotely with 75% travel both domestically and internationally.

This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.

This position is overtime eligible.
