UPS Global Accounting Compliance & Controls Supervisor in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the delivery of the ACR’s accounting, controls and compliance objectives globally, Global Lease Accounting coordination of centralize statutory reports, local adjustments and liaison between EY/ACR, Global Legal Contingency process, month-end accounting close support, external/internal audit support/coordination, ad hoc region support, accounting projects with a global scope and providing communications on accounting policies/compliance. The incumbent will have knowledge of GAAP requirements, controls, and audit processes. This position will not contain direct reports.

This role will work directly with the Global Accounting Controls and Reporting Manager to maintain a strong control environment across the GACs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates NE documentation/process with designated contract or business unit

  • Ensures NE completeness and accuracy; reviews NE identifies root cause, corrective action plan, financial impact, forecast inclusion

  • Maintains recurring timely SharePoint updates throughout monthly accounting cycle and SharePoint maintenance

  • Communicates with relevant stakeholders on monthly NEs includes senior leadership

  • Conducts monthly reviews with senior leadership on NE to process and pipeline

  • Implements and standardizes consistent process for identify and tracking legal/accounting contingencies globally

  • Coordinates quarterly contingency update with legal and accounting contacts

  • Prepares quarterly ASC 450 standard memos

  • Coordinates costar accounting group to pull report or request audit corrections

  • Communicates/presents updates to relevant stakeholders including senior leadership

  • Serves as a main liaison/point of contact to support centralize leases local GAAP adjustments, assist to clear local auditor inquires and support on UPS Lease Accounting process via costar

  • Coordinates and oversees monthly consolidation of Latin America Monthly Variance Explanations

  • Supports and coordinates internal/external audit

  • Owns Americas Accounting Legacy processes, follow-ups, and resolution (Ex. Venezuela liquidation, closing companies like Bolivia, Other Country Specific Issues); owns Europe Accounting Legacy processes

  • Seeks out diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation

  • Bachelor’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Finance, Accounting or related field

  • Master’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Finance, Accounting or related field

  • Certified Public Accountant
