Job Summary

The Manager, Applications Development ensures the ongoing development, enhancement and implementation of applications. Working closely with end-user groups to ensure operational stability, the Manager, Applications Development assesses whether new applications meet the practical needs of the company.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Build relationship with key users to identify and resolve business issues; Manage system development and support activities to meet user needs in a timely and cost effective manner while ensuring the right things get done as per the governance process; Manage and track the progress of multiple development projects; Oversee project management and administration that includes work plans, resource planning and control, preparing status reports, and preparing annual budgets; Communicate status of development design to supervisors and end users; and Select, develop and motivate assigned staff. Oversee and manage several teams of associates in the development, implementation and ongoing support of existing and new software applications and hardware platforms.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or closely related field with 7 years of work experience as software developer or similar position.

• Will also accept Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or closely related field with 5 years of experience as software developer or similar position.

• Stated experience with bachelor’s or Master’s must include 3 years of experience in a management capacity overseeing teams of software developers.
