MDI Relationship Manager
What does a successful Relationship Manager do?
Assume the relationship management role in leading the Fiserv overall business relationship with a portfolio of clients from a strategic and consultative perspective. Serving as the primary contact for the client’s executive and/ or senior level leaders, the Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for managing and growing the overall (pan-Fiserv) relationship with senior-level decision makers and influencers at assigned clients to create customer loyalty and increase revenues.
The Relationship Manager will leverage Fiserv solutions to maximize client’s growth and profitability, utilizing company resources to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and increased profitability for Fiserv.
What you will do:
Support a MDI portfolio of 12-15 clients in a geographic area.
Serves as primary point of contact and information resource to clients, sales support, marketing, and management regarding ongoing operations.
Strategy & Business Development:
Develop and implement account plans that drive incremental Fiserv revenue through creation of profitable deal constructs and innovative partnerships.
Identify and build a pipeline of revenue generating opportunities that increase profitability and contribution margin of partnership.
Lead retention of partnership via contract renegotiations and renewals that deliver profitable outcomes for Fiserv.
Relationship Management:
Cultivate and improve relationships across multi-level and teams at client to identify and implement solutions to grow and expand revenue.
Establish and use strong internal relationships and networks across Fiserv to effectively influence and complete revenue growth plans.
Increase Likely to Recommend score through deep strategic partnerships.
Obtain assigned sales quota through contract renewals and the sale of various products and services to assigned client portfolio in partnership with product sales SMEs.
Carries out day to day maintenance of daily operations for assigned client portfolio.
Responsible for retaining customers through proactive contacts, thorough follow-up on outstanding issues, and professional contract negotiations.
Maintain industry and product knowledge, an understanding of customers’ needs and concerns while continuously promoting a positive company image.
Under limited direction, meets or exceeds corporate goals regarding revenue, profit, and customer satisfaction.
Responsible for the overall relationship across Fiserv
Works to build relationships across the client’s org by being onsite 4 x a year.
Work in collaboration with the Account Manager to ensure cases are resolved in a timely manner and projects are completed when promised.
Coordinates a Quarterly Business Review if appropriate.
Helps the client by understanding their strategy, their financial metrics and overall performance.
Aligns Fiserv resources, expertise, products and services to execute their strategy and improve their performance.
Attends client's annual strategy meeting if appropriate.
Coordinates internal resources to deliver great support experience for them and their customers.
During a renewal process they own the renewal, pricing, products, T&Cs, etc.
What you will need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of work, education, and military experience.
Min. of 5 years in banking industry or financial services experience
Experience managing, growing relationships, and implementing cross-functional strategy to drive revenue growth with large clients.
Experience working in the financial/technology industry.
What would be great to have:
Must have knowledge of business and operations in the May be required to train others (client and internal staff) in area of technical expertise.
Additional special training in X industry is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Fiserv systems is helpful, including Salesforce or similar eCRM tool.
Ability to influence others at multiple levels internally and externally (who do not have a direct reporting line into this VP) and work collaboratively across teams to lead others who do not formally report to this person to drive results.
Experience in sales and negotiating techniques - consultative selling skills with a consistent track record to negotiate, close deals and generate results in a timely manner.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a focus on analyzing metrics to determine client strategy / approach.
Highly customer-focused and results-driven, with ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously with timely follow up, both autonomously and as part of a team.
Highly proficient in working with Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Fundamental knowledge of computer systems including host-based systems, especially financial data processing systems highly desirable.
MBA preferred.
Travel Required: Up to 60% domestic travel.
