The Banking Center of Excellence is a new team within Global Commercial Services (GCS) at American Express. The team is on a mission to expand the concept of American Express membership through a relevant, curated set of financial services products at differentiated value. We recently launched Amex Rewards Checking® and Amex Business Checking®, innovative digital checking accounts with a debit card attached, where customers can earn points as they spend.

Digital Product teams at American Express play a central role in identifying customer needs, building outstanding experiences, and leading teams across the company to launch, improve and cultivate products that provide our customers with world-class digital experiences.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Product Development Life Cycle (product roadmap, design, development) for Debit Card features and enhancements with a focus on improving the Debit POS experience through new capabilities.

  • Collaborate with key Debit business partners such as product management, credit fraud risk, and marketing to understand business needs and convert them to functional product requirements

  • Drive capability development & testing from concept to launch, in partnership with Product Owners, Delivery Managers and QA engineers across the company

  • Work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineering teams to help convert functional requirements to features and user stories

  • Support product & process design with team members and cross-functional partners across the organization to account for requirements from credit & fraud risk, financial crimes, compliance, regulatory & legal

  • Document user stories, business rules, use cases, and process flows for new features

  • Document and communicate as-is and as-built capabilities

  • Participate and contribute in scrum ceremonies with engineering teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You have 1-3 years of Product Management and/or Product Development experience with digital financial products

  • You have recent experience in the Agile Product Development methodology

  • You have experience acting as a liaison between business & tech teams (engineers, strategic technology partnerships etc.) to define, prioritize, & deliver projects

  • You have experience collaborating with a cross-functional team and are a team-player

  • You are a problem solver with strong critical and analytical skills

  • You have excellent project/process management and prioritization skills

  • You have excellent written and verbal communications skills with experience working closely with all levels of an organization

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in product management and/or engineering

Qualifications

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually bonus benefits
