The Finance Technology group at American Express is entering into a new phase of technology transformation driven by opportunities to modernize platforms, streamline data management and analytics, and utilize Cloud computing. If you have the talent and desire to deliver innovative products and services at a rapid pace, with hands on experience and strategic thinking, join our leadership team to be part of our transformation journey.

Here’s just some of what you’ll do as Sr. Staff Architect:

  • Establish Finance technology and platform strategy and roadmaps

  • Drive the right architectural decisions for owned and integrated platforms

  • Guide the application solutions architecture for Finance platforms deployed on Google Cloud

  • Guide the solutions architecture for Finance data domains and data products

  • Guide adoption of unified roadmaps, architecture oversight and design, adoption of enterprise architecture standards and frameworks

  • Guide global engineering teams that utilize modern software engineering practices and Agile development methodologies

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering their professional development and contributing to the overall success of the team

  • Develop and maintain strong business partner relationships

Qualifications

Are you up for the challenge? Here’s what you should have:

  • 10 years of large-scale technology engineering and team management in a complex environment

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field a plus

  • Software engineering expertise with ability to architect and engineer solutions leveraging modern tech stacks, APIs, and design patterns

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g.: AWS, Azure, GCP) and Big Data technologies (e.g.: Hadoop, Spark) is a plus

  • Knowledge of data architecture patterns and data management best practices.

  • Proficiency in cross-platform integration and security between multi-SaaS cloud and internal heterogeneous environments

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and strategic thinking ability, with a demonstrated aptitude for driving innovation and delivering impactful results in a dynamic environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across different functions and levels of the organization

Qualifications

Salary Range: $170,000.00 to $255,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
