Job Summary
This position works within the Supply Chain Optimization practice area as a Supply Chain Consultant and interacts heavily with both customer-facing resources/customers. The incumbent solves complex problems and designs solutions in supply chain network, transportation, warehousing and inventory working with UPS customers globally to ensure valuable impact and sustainable results. A primary goal of this role is to collaborate with UPS customers to design, develop and implement supply chain improvements to meet their strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
Duties include interviewing customers, gathering, analyzing information to determine supply chain needs and requirements
Assists with proposal and business development by leveraging subject matter expertise and customer relationships
Projects include analysis, design, and implementation of supply chain solutions through hypothesis formulation, scenario modeling, data and process analysis
Develops and presents recommendations and deliverables to customers including actionable insights, cost justification, service impact and added value
Manages multiple projects and schedules including scope, resources, and timely execution of project deliverables
Researches and evaluates industry trends and best practices to enhance UPS's ability to meet/exceed customer expectations and provide leading edge solutions
Provides support in the development of training materials for related groups (e.g., Sales, other Business Development groups, etc.) and new Customer Solutions team members to provide clear instruction on the steps involved in developing/implementing customer solutions
Conducts performance evaluations in a consistent, fair, and objective manner to encourage continuous performance improvement
Preferences
Possesses knowledge of transportation, logistics, warehousing and distribution
Demonstrates analytical skills, modeling skills with ability to analyze data for consistency, draw conclusions and develop recommendations
Possesses critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex business problems through fact gathering, business process mapping and data analysis
Demonstrates attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Displays ability to simplify highly complex analysis and output into terms that are easily accessible and impactful in both written/verbal formats
Possesses excellent presentation skills to all levels of the organization; is able to effectively work independently and in a team environment like a team player
Experience in network modeling, transportation optimization or inventory analytics
Experience in leading operational improvements, transformation, or innovative solutions
Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Business, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Logistics/Supply Chain Management or related field
Professional certification in Inventory Management or similar certification
Possesses knowledge of Data analysis skills using Excel, Access, SQL server and similar data tools
Experience in the Procurement, Supply and Demand Planning
