Independent design of adhesive recipes using different technologies and applying different chemistries to deliver on project CTQs. Takes project leadership and leads stakeholders in different functions to ensure the completion of the project and commercialization of the technology. Acts as a resource for technical professionals with less experience to have the ability to understand and influence others. Leads technical sub-teams with regular impact on own work teams, contributing to multiple projects. Accountability for project management and driving product commercialization processes according to DuPont development standards. Accountability for the generation and protection of intellectual property. Understanding and implementation of the strategy of DuPont adhesive business. Perform all work in full agreement with the DuPont EH&S (environment, health & safety) standards. Proactive contribution to continuous improvement of safety and housekeeping standards.
Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:
Development of structural adhesives for automotive architectures .
Drive efficient and effective materials development with a strong focus on the scientific method, and hypothesis-based design of experiments, ideally applying data mining capabilities and machine learning expertise.
Application of strong interpersonal skills and demonstrating leadership at all levels is desired to maintain and further build a winning team culture.
Strong sense of ownership and accountability with strong business acumen is desired.
The support of manufacturing and cross-functional teams to drive the commercial launch of the technologies according to DuPont product commercialization processes is key to our success.
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in chemistry or a related field with at least 8 years of experience is a minimum requirement. Ph.D. with 4 years of experience is preferred.
Skills or expertise in information technologies, particularly data mining and machine learning are advantageous.
Technological knowledge of epoxy, polyurethane, silicone and acrylic adhesive technologies is advantageous.
Understanding the importance of sustainability and implementing it into material development strategy.
Proficiency in project management and customer communication
Self-driven, motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating for superior results with internal and external stakeholders.
Interpersonal skills to build strong customer relationships to drive business results.
