Our Auburn, Maine manufacturing plant is seeking several experienced (2-6 years) project engineers to support production line expansion and modernization efforts. The Auburn location is about 40 minutes from Portland - Maine's largest city - and exists as an integral production node within P&G's Feminine Care business unit. The Auburn plant was founded in 1968 as part of Tambrands, Inc. before the company was acquired by P&G in 1997. Our site has over 500 full time employees split between technicians, engineers, and support personnel working in a variety of operating and engineering departments. Here we manufacture the majority of P&G's tampon products for worldwide distribution. As a project engineer, you'll work within our onsite upstream engineering / R&D group that focuses on enhancing tampon production technologies, primarily through mechanical manufacturing lines, as well as supporting the site's raw fiber processing & logistics departments. Successful candidates will break down barriers to success, guide project teams through innovation projects, and build upon success for the department.

In the role you will:

  • Lead a project team to create technical readiness plan, set success criteria targets using existing standards, and reapply learnings from previous projects

  • Collaborate with technical experts, other functions, and other manufacturing sites to create the best solutions

  • Develop integrated technical learning plans to achieve targets according to the project schedule

  • Work in a fast-paced, people focused, hands-on manufacturing environment.

  • Delivery and start-up of new equipment, initiatives, and projects

  • Track progress and identify / manage risks

  • Present strong communication, time management, and analytical skills

  • Creating and improving standards to enable us to achieve the performance targets for a given production line

  • Report on progress and communicate relevant information to senior leadership

This posting has a start date set for mid-late Summer 2024.

  • These roles are onsite Monday through Friday with typical days starting between 6:30 - 7 am.

  • Occasional night and weekend support may be required based on project work (planned in advance)

  • If located 50 or more miles from the site, we offer a paid relocation package.

Job Qualifications

You are a good fit if you:

  • Have a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical engineering. Other engineering degrees will also be considered

  • 2-6 years of relevant work experience

  • Bring an interest in manufacturing, people facing work.

  • Desire a tight knit, collaborative team

  • Strong leadership, project management. Leading teams to build the organization

  • Are willing to relocate during your career. At P&G employees typically have the opportunity to change career assignments, pending personal & professional circumstances, between every 2-5 years.

  • An aptitude for communicating insights and collaborating across teams/organizations

  • Have a willingness to travel on the job on occasion. Travel is not expected to be more than 15% of the time.

Nice to have:

  • Prior technical experience with cartoning & palletizing equipment

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or general industrial environment

  • Risk management experience

JUST SO YOU KNOW:

Starting Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000 annually.

Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
