Plant Superintendent - Auburn, MI

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Description: Oversee and coordinate operations of an edible bean plant. The Plant Superintendent is responsible for safe, and successful day to day operational activities, while maintaining a sanitary work place in compliance with company policies and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, QA, etc.).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand, implement, promote, and train employees on all ADM Health and Safety Programs

  • Responsible for all operations involved in dry bean cleaning to ensure successful day to day operations in the areas of safety, quality, and production.

  • Understand, maintain, improve, and evaluate process controls

  • Maintain cost control, maximize productivity, and minimize waste

  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple assignments/ tasks

  • Motivate, train, develop, and lead production and maintenance personnel

  • Coordinate production schedules with team members

  • Maintain food safety standards in accordance with Quality Assurance program.

  • Assist in maintaining customer relations and solving customer related problems

  • Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with production, administrative, sales, and management teams

Job Requirements

  • Role requires 3-5 years of experience in the agricultural production environment

  • Strong industrial systems and mechanical aptitude

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing flow process, controls, and procedures

  • Computer skills which include proficiency in Microsoft Office and other common business applications

  • Ability to understand, develop, and manage production schedules and meet target dates

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must demonstrate high level problem solving and team working skills

  • Strong leadership, organizational and inter-personal skills

  • Inter-personal skills include handling conflict, motivation, instructing and training personnel in a respectable and fair manner

  • The physical requirements of the position require the ability to climb stairs, periods of standing and setting, working in confined spaces, from heights, bending, kneeling, and the ability to lift 50lbs.
