What Electrical Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes

Electrical Engineering are responsible for building, testing and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuitry and other systems used in finished equipment

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and program PLC programs preferably Allen Bradley Control Logix, PLC and SLC, and use of Ethernet.

  • Understand electrical power and control schematics.

  • Understand field installation drawings.

  • Troubleshoot with or without prints.

  • Work with and interface with internal project managers and external customers.

  • Design, Repair, maintain, and install a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment used to support the building and the factory with and/or without assistance and/or direction from others.

  • Install, repair, and replace temperature controls, solid state controls, programmable logic controllers, HMI’s, MMI’s, position sensors, servo systems, AC and DC electrical motors and motor controllers, transformers, disconnects, and distribution panels

  • Accountable for department’s process and mechanical reliability. Identify key barriers to improved machine reliability.

  • Will layout and install new equipment, modifications, or upgrades. This includes conducting/ assisting with validation protocol

  • Utilize manuals, tables, and schematic drawings to perform job duties.

  • Use a variety of electrical diagnostic equipment to include oscilloscopes, meggers, digital and analog volt/ohm meters, ammeters, tachometers, computers and other test equipment specific to an area.

  • Apply electrical theory, principles of electrical circuits, electrical testing procedures, engineering mathematics, physics, and related subjects to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production electronic equipment.

  • Overtime and weekends may be required to complete tasks or projects.

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of experience, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field experience preferred

  • Hands-on knowledge of operator interface programs preferably Allen Bradley Factory Talk View and RS View preferred

  • Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives

  • May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

Anticipated salary range: $68,300 - $97,500
