What Quality Control contributes to Cardinal Health

Quality develops and implements quality policies, procedures, and processes to ensure products and services comply with regulatory standards and specifications.

Quality Control is responsible for the analysis or inspection of materials, components, products or processes for compliance with specifications and standards.

Job Summary

The Quality Control Specialist ensures the safety, quality, and efficiency of device manufacturing. You will be responsible for testing raw materials, in-process materials and finished goods on a daily basis to ensure that product specifications are met. Daily responsibilities include processing and interpretation of chromatographic data, entering data into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and review of peer’s work. The Quality Control Specialist coordinates with production for release of material. Responsibilities also include routine laboratory upkeep and housekeeping: chemical inventory, reagent and supply ordering, etc.

Job Responsibilities

  • Uses established test methods and analyses to perform daily testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products. Communicate results of testing to relevant work groups.

  • Apply knowledge of analytical chemistry to support laboratory investigations and special projects. Carry out investigations with peers for nonconformances. Create detailed reports for nonconformities and investigations.

  • Processing and interpretation of chromatographic data (GC and HPLC). Develop in-depth knowledge of HPLC system maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Assist in activities related to the test method life cycle (method development, method verification, method validation, method optimization). Participate and suggest improvements in updates for standard operating procedures in the laboratory.

  • Additional responsibilities include: chemical inventory management, coordination of testing with third party laboratories, upkeep/improvement of LIMS, raw material sampling.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory preferred

  • Experience with chromatography software is preferred (OpenLab, ChemStation)

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field preferred or equivalent experience in related field

Anticipated salary range: $22.40 - $32.00
