Description
Acclarent, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Area Director in the Central/South region in the United States.
Chronic sinusitis affects 3 million Americans each year and five per cent of the U.S. adult population suffers from a phenomenon referred to as Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (blocked ears / ear pain). Acclarent is dedicated to supporting otolaryngologists with minimally invasive ENT technologies that relieve this suffering as effectively and painlessly as possible. For more than a decade Acclarent has pioneered innovative technologies, including the balloon dilation system that’s been used to treat more than one million patients.
The Area Director is responsible for the management of the team of ENT consultants and Regional Sales Managers assigned to them. It is his/her responsibility to ensure that each group is performing their roles and responsibilities as required, providing a professional and knowledgeable interface with the healthcare community and generating revenues for Acclarent at or above Acclarent plan levels. He/she is also responsible for developing their team’s professional skills and knowledge. Additionally, the Area Director will work closely with the Senior VP of Sales & Training, Commercial Operations, and Professional Education to ensure that the sales team has the tools, support and education needed to perform optimally.
Specific duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and execute the Company’s direct sales strategy and sales plans within his/her assigned region to achieve territory sales revenue and budget objectives
Support his/her regional team by providing guidance in Best Practices in Sales, product and Acclarent strategies, and assistance in sales calls as needed
Work closely with the Senior VP of Sales & Training and his management team to ensure team and corporate goal achievement
Provide customer feedback on the Company’s products to Marketing
Ensure maintenance and compliance of the Company’s Emergency Stock program to the appropriate SOPs
Understand the Company’s Quality Policy and Quality System requirements applicable to tasks performed by the holder of this job function
Responsible for compliance with Quality System requirements applicable to tasks performed by the holder of this job function
Recruit, manage and mentor a team of professional, experienced and premier employees in sales training and sales operations

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, the candidates must meet the following criteria:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
3-5 years in sales management – preferably in a medical device start up environment required.
7-10 years in medical device sales is required as well as a proven track record in selling surgeon-specified products, strong local relationships with the healthcare community, and a demonstrated experience attracting, building and maintaining diverse high performance teams.
The advanced ability to influence others, a demonstrated ability to obtain results through others, and strong command of both written and verbal communication skills are also required.
The candidate must possess a strong commitment to company values, and have the ability to travel extensively.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license issued in the United States
The ability to travel related to this role is required.
