Description:
The Director of Events Sales is responsible for fostering account growth with both established and new event clients throughout the local and larger regions. This person should actively prospect new business and respond to RFPs in a timely and detailed manner. They should actively seek opportunities for upselling and repeat business to ensure revenue is maximized and set the tone for overall team expectations. The Director of Event Sales will serve as department leader by managing the sales team in support of the Regional Director to ensure all quotas are consistently met.
The Director of Events Sales must have the ability to resolve conflicts and have a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. They will represent and maintain the company’s culture, values and reputation in the public eye, with staff, guests, vendors and partners.
Responsibilities
· Achieve individual goals in designated segments and support the sales team to meet expected hotel budgets through Sales & Marketing plans and managed expenses.
· Manage sales team to produce and attend special events, outbound sales efforts, and onsite property tours. Attends local networking events as representation for the brand and hotels.
· Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate departmental staff.
· Delegate RFPs, prospecting opportunities, operational tasks and other departmental needs to team members with efficiency and ensure appropriate follow-up is made to guarantee service levels and associate expectations are met.
· Qualify prospective leads in both social and corporate segments, create tailored proposals, maximize upsell opportunities and respond to RFPs in a timely manner to maximize business conversion.
· Produce accurate sales reports, including the progress of prospective bookings, definite business and establish account production. Maintain database of leads and business opportunities, ensuring follow up and continued relationship growth.
· Seek out new business from market research and conduct sales calls and visits on all accounts, providing prompt and appropriate follow-up.
· Leads process to ensure client and guest satisfaction, developing relationships with new clients and existing guests driving customer loyalty and repeat business.
· Ensure strong client communication from RFP process through event execution.
· Stays current on industry trends and seeks creative ways to infiltrate markets and accounts.
Based on fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as necessary and directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.

Education and Experience Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration or hospitality management. Equivalent combination of education, work experience and training may substitute to education requirements.
· Four to Five years of hotel or hospitality sales experience required, to include selling and executing weddings.
· Experience developing Sales and Marketing Plans and managing budgets.
· Proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
