The Advanced Compact Electronic Warfare Solutions (ACES) Product Line within the Countermeasures and Electromagnetic Attack (CEMA) Solutions Business Area has an immediate need for a Contracts Manager to support the Countermeasures and Responsive Dispenser Systems (CARDS) Product area out of our Austin, TX facility. CARDS is a growing area within ACES that has mostly unclassified programs with the US Navy, Lockheed Martin, and a variety of other Government and commercial customers.

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to: overseeing and directing daily contractual activities, providing guidance on contractual/business issues to leadership, teammates, and junior colleagues, and assisting in preparing proposals, completing negotiations and drafting contract terms. Independently leading and managing proposal activities including, analysis of solicitations, developing strategies and recommendations, preparing terms and conditions, reviewing the technical and pricing proposals for accuracy and consistency and conducting business risk assessment. Lead and support fact-finding and other audit activities. Lead complex negotiations with an emphasis on implementing a strategy that creates a win/win situation. Advising CARDS leadership of contractual rights and obligations, risk mitigation alternatives and business strategy. Ensuring all contractual arrangements offer the company a reasonable probability of accomplishing the business objectives. Fostering and maintaining relationships with counterparts within the customer organization and between all functions within BAE Systems. Working knowledge of multiple contract types (FFP, FPI-F, CPFF, CPIF, T&M, and OTAs), U.S. government acquisition and export regulations, UK MoD DEFCONs and working with the UK MoD in general.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member

  • Ability to make decisions and close actions

  • FAR/DFAR knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

  • Experience with agreements other than contracts (ex. OTAs, NDAs, bailment agreements, and/or software license agreements)

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

This position requires the ability to pass a Special Background Investigation and obtain Secret clearance.

Pursuant to a specific US Government contract, selected candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Experience with Intellectual Property

Experience with complex contracts and proposal preparation and execution

Experience with UK Ministry of Defense Commercial arrangements and provisions

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $113080 - $192280

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
